iMade® - Methods in Manufacture

The aim of IMade – Methods in Manufacture is to illustrate the values of industrial research behind the developing of the manufacturing processes in the Italian home products industry. This is an industry that embraces a wide range of sectors united by the same desire to create home products with a ‘high-profile’ identity.
The second edition of iMade®, in particular, has chosen to focus on six different sectors that equally represent the various manufacturing models that form the foundation for the Italian ability to develop new ideas in design and transform them into manufactured products. The sectors concentrated on are those of ceramic tiles, technical textiles, the highly-traditional materials marble and silver, the sector of designer taps and fittings and, lastly, the furniture sector, which involves and influences all the others as an expression of an extremely rich cultural and technical material that is today capable of supporting design on an international level.

Through the representation of as many as 58 leading companies the industries of the sector aim to demonstrate their manufacturing precision and technical inventiveness , based on a solid culture of manufacture and ranging from the internationality of the design culture to the Italian processing industries, by which the Italian factory is still today a unique and unrivalled place of design production.
